Peace Bears

A few weeks after our package arrived from Sufficient Grace we had another package arrive. This one a mystery to us, one we weren't expecting. Even the address didn't give me any clues. I opened the box to find another bear . This one was from The Peace Bear Project .
An old friend of ours, Pastor Wayne who lives way down in the US , had told friends of his about Samuel . This is the couple who has The Peace Bear Project, which they started after their daughter Peace died . They send Peace bears to bereaved families, and we even got a personal handwritten note. We were so touched that people we didn't even know were reaching out to say " We understand and we care "

So once again, if anyone ever wants to make a donation in memory of Samuel , this is another great organization.

Sufficient Grace Ministries

It was a sunny day in March when a package I had been anxiously waiting for finally arrived at my house ....
A package I never thought would be sent to me ...
A package for a bereaved Mama ....
From a wonderful ministry.
Sufficient Grace Ministries .
A ministry provided for families who have experienced the loss of a child ...
Inside my box was my homemade Comfort Bear and a beautiful leather baby book ....
This bear has brought comfort most to my girls. They take turns sleeping with Sammy's bear everynight .
I am so thankful for this wonderful ministry ...
Who I might add :
Does not charge the bereaved family anything for the packages they send to them .
So please if you ever want to donate to something in Samuel's memory. John , the kids and I would love if you would donate to this wonderful ministry who has brought comfort to us and countless others in their time of loss .....

Awana Awards Ceremony

Last Wednesday night was the kids Awana closing ! Which means this blog post is only about 8 days late, so I'm getting better at blogging again people!
First up was Mr. Cooper's Cubbies class. They had to sing their song and Coop Man thought he would look way cooler if he stood with his hands in his pockets the entire time ....
And not participate in the actions ....
Then it was the girlies turn. They were both in T & T this year .
They did not feel they needed to " look cool " with the hands in their pockets and actually sang the song while doing the actions :)
Raising Boys and Girls ....
Is like night and day !
Bettcha ya didn't know that !
After the songs and the message. It was Awards time ! Cooper got his first. He worked extra hard to finish his book and he did it ! So proud of my little 4 year old man for learning all his verses :)
He got a little shy when his teacher Mrs. Emily was telling everyone how happy Coop always is ...
Then it was Miss. Maggeys turn. She worked her butt off and actually finished her book just a few hours before the ceremony so she got her award for completing her entire book !
As did Miss. Halley just a couple days before. She finished her entire book ! Our family obviously works better under a little pressure ....
Even my Auntie Carol for an award for being an Awana helper ! She was the one who helped my kids get their books finished in the nick of time. Couldn't have done it without her ....
Who me ?
No more pics please Mom :)
I'm proud of these sweet kiddos :)

Awana Grand Prix

I realize I have been neglecting my blog and am crazy far behind ...
So slowly catching up on what's been happening ...

About two weeks ago was the Awana Grand Prix . Which the girls have been so excited about. They worked hard on their cars with their Daddy . I was a huge help with the building of the cars as I'm sure you probaly already knew ...

I was in charge of taking the pictures ...
There was little trust with my abilities to use a skillsaw ...
That would be correct !
So the night arrived ....
Here are all of the cars that would be racing ....
and of course ...
The crazy spectators :)
They raced a whole lot of times ...
Hoping to see their car go through the finish line first ...
and it did some ....
They had fun ...
and even raced against each other ....
The Grand Prix was a hit !
Maggey won 4th for Novelty car :)
Halley won for having the 4th fastest car :)
All the winners of the evening ....
These ones came home with us :)
Proud of my girlies ....

Let's Go Fly A Kite ...

My sister Katie came for a visit a few weeks ago to give me a little break and look after the kiddos. When she left  which made us all sad .. She left them these awesome kites  !!
So we picked an extremely windy Saturday about three weeks ago as the perfect day to head down to the park and try them out ...
It was perfect .....
Sunny .
Warmish .
and
Windy .
Halley's Panda ...
Maggey's Ladybug ....
Cooper's Gecko ....
After a sad winter ...
It made my day to see smiles again ....
Despite the fact that there was still snow in APRIL for crying out loud !
Hence the winter jackets and clunky boots ...
We were together ....
Doing something that seemed normal ....
Trying to forget ...
and move on ....
My three earthy blessings ....
Oh I love them :)
The day wasn't over though ...
It was off to find a back road to explore .....
We came across this sign ...
A road with the same name as my boy ...
He was much excited :)
